GENERAL ASSEMBLY DECISION NO: 1

ANOTHER EUROPE IS POSSIBLE!

The New Cyprus Party, from now on, aims to pursue its targets universally by collaborating with EU’s left.

The New Cyprus Party rejects a Europe, that follows neo-liberal politics and that has closed borders and wishes a another Europe, defining this together with Europe’s left, socialists and progressivists;

A Europe that targets a social and political globalization of labour as an alternative to capitalism, creates politics that are autonomous from USA’s hegemony, opposes militarism and war actively whilst on the other hand defends peace ferociously, supports worldwide progress that is continuous, actively fights poverty, defends just distribution and that makes a contribution to the struggle for equality, democracy and peace for all nations of the World…

The New Cyprus Party is determined that another Europe is possible, and it is determined to materialize this belief with its allies in Europe.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY DECISION NO: 2

THE WHOLE OF CYPRUS IS FOR ALL CYPRIOTS

The New Cyprus Party After the membership of Cyprus into the EU, the Party has become a Party the makes politics for the whole of Cyprus and Cypriots not only for a proportion of the people in a small corner of the north of the Country. In this frame of mind from now on the New Cyprus Party is the Cypriots and Cyprus’s Party. In believing that everyone can express their political ideas, in the way they want and where they want, the New Cyprus Party will accommodate all Cypriots and all EU citizens that live in Cyprus in its constitution. With this structure it will, impede the progress of chauvinism whether it is in our country, in Europe or worldwide, it will contribute to making sure that the common struggle for a World without war and exploitation does not allow ethnic separatism to create problems.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY DECISION NO: 3

NATURAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DESTRUCTION MUST STOP IMMEDIATELY

Even as a natural and environmental destruction under the disguise of construction continued in both the north and the south of our Country, after the Annan Plan came to our agenda’s it is apparent that this process has picked up speed. The looting of Cypriot’s property has become a contract as such and it is being continued consciously in order to make the property problem a larger scale dilemma.

The Country’s already scarce agricultural and forest land has been filled with unhealthy concrete piles of constructions. In the process the mountains and hills as well as the natural habitat, characteristic trees and fauna of our Country are being destroyed.

Those that have responsibilities and authority only look on as this natural and environmental destruction continues on other people’s property in the land of a Country that is a member of the EU.

The New Cyprus Party calls upon EU authorities and European environmentalist organizations to stop this process and to give the necessary warnings to those who are “responsible” for this geography.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY DECISION NO: 4

DOUBTS MUST BE RESOLVED, THE TALKS MUST BEGIN IMMEDIATELY

The Annan Plan was rejected due to the fact that one side said “No” and the other said “Yes”. Now because a plan that was found convenient by both the UN and the EU was rejected, there is disagreement between those who say “the plan must change” and those who say “the plan can not change” among “two disputed sides”.

This result turned out the way it is due to the fact that the plan was not explained to the society, the church and the state’s open propaganda opposing the plan, the threatening of the people and at the same time Greek negotiators way of participation in the talks leading to believe that they were looking for excuses not to accept negotiations but then again insisting that the referendum was carried out.

However, still this situation has not changed. Now, even though it was known that the plan would be rejected and was presented for a referendum and in which one side said “No” and the other said “Yes”, the Plan is being kept on the table therefore creating an unproductive cycle between “two disputed sides”.

Where as there is a need to come to a mutual agreement on a democratic structure that the people have dealt with and to manage and overcome the huge amount of problems that will arise in the application of such structure.

Our Party calls upon those who are responsible to understand one another and not to act as a side but as someone who is thinking for their Country. Those who said that they want a “Cypriot Solution” in the talks between Parties. Without hiding behind excuses such as “we are not in power” and “we must take into consideration the reality of Turkey” we must give the right of speech to those who have not said so yet. Those who claim this council is a decisive organ must remember this and conclude this execution with a political decision. The Presidency regime on the Greek side is not an obstacle; those who want a solution must put the council into action and direct the President with political decisions.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY DECISION NO: 5

USA MUST WITHDRAW FROM THE MIDDLE EAST

They have started to generate unthinkable politics in order to turn the whole world into a huge Palestine. USA’s present government is trying to change the leaders of states they call ‘terrorist states’ with military precautions saying that “they are trying to posses weapons of mass destruction without feeling as responsible as the USA, they may be a threat to World peace and to their neighbouring Countries”. In the contrary to this there are countries that use international terror organizations resort to brutality such as the USA and generally Eastern and Western modern states that insist on politics of exploitation by forcing developing countries into heavy debts or by bribing these countries to being forced to apply their own politics, by not allowing these countries to practice their own religion by insisting on their own civilizations and by putting forward that they support Israel in order to use them as a gendarme in the area in the Palestine problem.

It is a possibility that terror will turn the world into a large Palestine and we will pay a huge toll if we do not stand and succeed against states or armed organizations whatever their reasons maybe for using violence as a way of politics.

Against this danger we must succeed to acquire international solidarity and to overcome unacceptable matters that state or terror organizations exploit.

As our Party proposes to the world in its programme to create a new world with peaceful methods we salute those who struggle for this cause worldwide in respect and repeat our promise of solidarity.

Primarily it is a necessary to create the conditions for the USA to withdraw from Iraq and for the Palestine problem to be solved. The foremost international success would be to create a democratic regime in Iraq in which EU which we are a member of must play a courageous role in this matter. In order for the UN to keep the peace a suitable environment must be created.  

Our Party believes that a peace agreement established through peaceful methods in Cyprus would be a good example for this.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY DECISION NO: 6

INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS, THE IMF AND THE WORLD BANK SHOULD NOT BE CENTERS OF PRESSURIZATION

Allowing countries’ administrations to degenerate and the pressurization of no other alternative economical models by trying to threaten international economical relations in unacceptable methods by exploitation has created large problems. Using large international organizations in this pressurization and if insufficient using other ways has threatened world peace and security.

An example for this is IMF’s pressurizations. Except for IMF’s putting specific conditions it also benefits immorally from International trade and foreign debts and forces the World Bank to use its resources to fit these conditions. This situation must come to an end and democratic counties must fulfil their responsibilities that fall upon them to cease the world’s current spoilt balance by also putting a stop to enforcing economic models.

Wealthy countries must not forget the path they followed whilst on the way to wealth remembering that newly developing countries not only have to go through that path but they also have to compete with likes of themselves.

Our Party prompts the fact that globalization is not a new concept, and even though there may be obstacles from time to time it still exists and with the development of technology it has become easier to materialize. Our party also defends that responsible international organizations should respect world democracy and allow nations the right of choosing their own way of development.

Emphasizing the importance of materializing solidarity with nations that have suffered from their administrations’ degeneration in mutual respect and peace, our Party makes a call for universal solidarity.
